Unfortunately we were unable to keep our booking for personal reasons. It was booked without the possibility of cancellation. This was of course our mistake. However, Booking gave you the opportunity to ask for a refund because it was only booked for in 4 months. There was no response to Booking's request. So the hotel was contacted by us several times. There was never an answer. The lack of a refund is not a problem, but not receiving a response is rude. An answer that a refund was not possible would have been enough for us. We are very dissatisfied with the lack of communication.
The Marseille's Village Club du Soleil is a nice place for families. It's well located (not so far from Palais Longchamps and Friche Belle de Mai). We have enjoyed the food with a nice buffet (different country's menu every day). The …
I stayed here for 1 night with my wife and 2 kids during rugby world cup 1/4 final. We paid over £500 for a quad room for 1 night, the building itself and the location are great... but the service was appalling from start to finish.
By way of example we arrived at 2pm but were told we could not check in until 5pm (that happened to be same time as Kick off) so we asked of we could leave the 1 suitcase we had in the room but were told that was impossible because it would make it too difficult for room service to clean the room! So we packed our suitcase back into the car and went off to the game.
The next morning we popped down to breakfast and sat down at a table set with a napkin, knife/fork and a glass only to be literally shouted at, and by shouted I mean shouted at by a "waitress" (I am guessing that was her job) saying she had just got those tables ready for lunch and why can't we sit at another table!!! 2mins later another couple made the same mistake and a full on argument broke out between the so called "waitress" and the customers.... this is without a doubt the worst hotel experience I have ever endured, it was so bad it was like a caricature of the hospitality business.
The staff and management should be ashamed of themselves, they clearly have no pride in their work or the slightest care towards their guests, every guest is treated like an annoyance...the best bit of the £500/night stay was leaving.
Avoid this place like the plague!
This place could really be amazing. But poor management and bad attitude of the staff made it a terrible experience. The gardens that could be so wonderful were filthy with litter and food The restaurant was disgusting and food inedible. It …

1) Since I was staying on the 1st floor, I had access to a huge balcony and a pool view, which was the only good thing.
2) The staff and the cleaning staff were very warm and good.
3) Lunch and dinner are good (but not breakfast).
4) The hotel provides a shuttle service that is scheduled for every 30 minutes from the hotel to Palais Longchamp.
5) The spa section (that contains a hot sauna, wet sauna and jacuzzi) is really impressive and worth trying.
Dislike -
1) I stayed in the Duplex Quadruple Room with four single beds, and unfortunately, the room has insufficient space when 4 people are staying.
2) Also, there was only one cupboard that could not definitely accommodate four-person stuff.
3) I would also say that hotels provide minimum toiletry (only one soap bar for the wash basin and body wash in the bathroom)
4) I literally have the same breakfast from the whole stay with very limited options.
5) Swimming pools (from 10.00 to 18.00) and (from 09.00 to 20.00) are very illogical and inconvenient. Therefore, no one can swim or go to the gym in the morning or night, which is usually the case.
6) the hotel location is quite out of the city, and the neighbourhood is very risky, especially at night. So you always have to take Uber after the dark.
The hotel was a disappointment. The personal was very rude, there was no organisation and communication among them. We even had to change room after the first night because of lack of organisation. The internet was not working. In the positive side, I should mention Bachir, the shuttle bus driver that was one of the best persons we have met and a diamond of this hotel!
Hotel is placed in a strange neighborhood. It is reachible only for guests and secured 24/7. Servise is nice but most of the employs hardly speaks English. Rooms are deacent. Brekfast is poor. At least to have scrambled eggs and some salad. For dinner you can choose one meal with a fish, one beef one chicken and wegetables. Dessert is nice.
We enjoyed the facilities. This is a great option for families with young children. Everything you need is here. In door and outdoors options. The staff were very helpful (my French is poor) and friendly.
